Virgin Holidays is kicking off its January sales campaign ‘#flaunt it’ with its first ever peak season television advertisements.
The first TV ad airs on Christmas Day and urges holidaymakers to ‘flaunt’ the feeling they get ‘when they can’t contain their mojo’ on a Virgin Holidays break. The ad stars Colin 59, a retired hairdresser, flaunting it as he comes out of the sea with a confident flick of his hair.
The campaign runs across TV, online, outdoor and press ads depicting normal holiday scenarios getting the ‘flaunt it’ treatment. They include riding through the US in a Cadillac, dancing like no-one’s watching in the Caribbean and frolicking on a beach. Two digital versions see a monotonous banner ad transformed into a glossy banner as the subjects in the ad flaunt their holiday mojo.
The campaign is also promoted throughout Virgin Holiday’s 126 travel agencies during January.
Aoife McDonald, advertising and media marketing manager, said: “‘Flaunt it’ is all about celebrating how amazing you’ll feel when travel with Virgin Holidays.”
Travel agents are being offered the chance to win three big prizes and a host of incentives when they book a Virgin Holiday for customers. From Boxing Day agents have to register any Virgin holidays they sell by February 2 on the operator’s website www.vhols4agents.com to be in with a chance to win.
First prize is a seven-night VIP holiday for two at Walt Disney World Resort Orlando, courtesy of Virgin Holidays and Disney, with complimentary park tickets and 500 US dollars spending money. Second prize is tickets to London Fashion Week and third prize is an iPad Mini.
Spot prizes up for grabs for agents in January include Love to Shop vouchers. From mid-January the operator will visit agencies nationwide with merchandising to promote the campaign and gifts.
