Board re-appointed at eDreams Odigeo after surge in subscribers

All existing board members at eDream Odigeo have been re-appointed for an additional three-year term.

Shareholders at the European OTA’s annual general meeting gave their approval by a large majority.

The decision reflects continued confidence in the board’s leadership and the successful execution of the company’s long-term strategy, according to the company.

When the board’s current tenure began in 2021, amid the challenges of the pandemic, the company had 876,000 subscribers. That figure has risen seven-fold to 6.2 million in three years.

The business is on course to achieve a target of 7.25 million subscribers to its Prime platform by March 2025, alongside profits [ebitda] exceeding €180 million.

The board’s reappointment “ensures continuity in leadership and positions the company to develop and execute a new phase of its long-term strategy for sustained growth and innovation” with a 3.5-year strategic roadmap nearing completion.

Shareholders also confirmed the appointment of Laurence Berman, a non-executive board member of Spanish theme park PortAventura World, as a new independent director.

Board chairThomas Vollmoeller said: “We are grateful for the strong support from our shareholders, which reflects their confidence in both our achievements and our vision for the future.

“I am thankful for the forceful transformation we’ve led across our business, and we remain fully committed to continuing this trajectory of success as the world’s first and largest travel subscription platform.

“We also extend a warm welcome to Laurence Berman, whose expertise will further strengthen our board and help us deliver on our strategic goals as we embark on our next phase of our growth.”
