Thousands of Wizz Air bookings affected by ‘system error’

Thousands of bookings were affected by a “system error” at Wizz Air, the budget carrier has confirmed.

The airline took to social media site X yesterday (Thursday) to report a technical issue affected its booking system.

“As a result, you may notice changes to your booking on the app or website or receive related notifications,” Wizz Air told passengers.

“Please disregard these changes and rest assured that we will update you as soon as the issue is resolved.

“Our team works (sic) diligently to fix the problem and restore the affected flights.”

An airline spokesperson said: “Thousands of bookings were affected, however all flights have now been restored.

“This was a system error and no flights were disrupted.

“Any flights that appeared as cancelled for future dates have been restored, but if any customers rebooked a flight due to the system error, they can contact Wizz for a full refund.”
