Atlas Ocean Voyages chief executive steps down

Atlas Ocean Voyages’ chief executive and president, James Rodriguez, will step down at the end of 2024 to “pursue other opportunities”.

The cruise line said in a statement: “Over the past two years, Rodriguez has effectively led the company through a period of substantial growth, redefining luxury expedition cruising while expanding the brand’s footprint both in North America and internationally.

“As the company begins the search for a new brand president, Atlas is committed to ensuring a smooth transition and aims to name a successor by the end of the year.

“The new leader will continue to drive the brand’s expansion and maintain its focus on delivering exceptional travel experiences.

“This leadership transition underscores Atlas Ocean Voyages’ forward-focused approach, ensuring stability, momentum, and an exciting future as the brand grows.”

The statement highlight recent achievements, noting: “Atlas Ocean Voyages has deepened relationships with travel advisors and consumers.

“In 2024, the brand expanded its international presence, strategically focusing on the UK and Australia.”

Furthermore, it said that, under Rodriguez’s leadership, Atlas expanded its offerings beyond polar expeditions, launching Epicurean Expeditions and Cultural Expeditions.
