Riviera Travel has started paying commissions on previously exempt elements, such as additional upgrades and other ancillary add-ons.
Commission will be available on all sole occupancy supplements, room upgrades, flight upgrades and extras like personalising holiday experiences, extra baggage, pre-booked seats and priority boarding.
The shift is a direct result of feedback from Riviera’s agent engagement committee.
The additional commission earning opportunity is supported by the current peaks campaign where agents receive a £30 voucher for every booking made between January 1 and February 28. The voucher amount doubles for themed river cruise bookings.
A weekly prize draw will see all bookings during this period entered to win a £1,000 preloaded Mastercard.
Head of sales Vicky Billing said: “Travel agents play a pivotal role in the success of Riviera bookings. They serve as our trusted advisors who can navigate the complexities of travel arrangements, their expertise in promoting Riviera’s unique product and incentives helps drive bookings and boosts revenue and as such it’s important we recognise their importance.
“I’m delighted that our new incentives mean our agents can earn more, aligning perfectly with our commitment to being a team that genuinely cares about the people we work with.
“It’s important to us to ensure we continue to support and reward our valued travel agents. “
