A higher level of charter flights helped Norse Atlantic Airways achieve a 57% rise in December passenger carryings over the same month in 2023.
The long-haul low cost carrier reported its highest-ever load factor in a month, achieving 94% in December, a 23-percentage point year-on-year increase from 71%.
The airline operated 434 flights and flew 124,450 passengers across its network and ACMI (aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance)/charter operations, a 57% increase in passenger numbers compared to the same period last year.
While 53% of flights departed within 15 minutes of their scheduled departure time only 33% arrived within 15 minutes of their planned arrival time.
“There were negative impacts from air traffic control and air traffic flow management restrictions en-route, combined with airport related challenges through the peak season,” Norse Atlantic disclosed.
“ACMI/charter services saw substantial growth, with 158 flights operated in December 2024 compared to 22 flights in December 2023.”
