Stevenage-based P&P Associates is developing software to check whether clients have travelled on an e-ticketed flight.
The product aims to help agents with refunds for unused e-tickets, because with paperless travel there is no documentation to hand back.
“E-ticketing is likely to grow and grow as airlines and agents move to cut their distribution costs.. What’s needed is the ability to track whether passengers turn up or not, using information from the airlines,” said P&P director paul Harrison.
“We are looking at the feasibility of incorporating such a feature into our BOSSback office system.
BTIUK Hogg Robinson has already developed a system to track unused e-tickets with Galileo. Sabre is also marketing a product along the same lines.
