The Saint Lucia Tourist Board is urging agents across the UK and Ireland to capitalise on Prince Harry’s royal visit to the Caribbean.
His Royal Highness will visit Saint Lucia on November 24 and 25 as part of his 14 days of official engagements, and the tourist board expects extensive media coverage.
It has created a royal-themed newsletter for the trade with offers and ideas for royal-themed holidays to promote to customers, a dedicated microsite and a Youtube video of the top five places for Prince Harry to visit.
Saint Lucia Experts have also been asked to provide their top recommendations for Prince Harry.
Atlyn Forde, director of marketing for the UK and Europe at Saint Lucia Tourist Board said: “Prince Harry’s visit to the Caribbean will no doubt create a great buzz in the UK.
“The Prince will enjoy the natural beauty of Saint Lucia, meet inspiring individuals and experience the islands unique culture throughout his trip. Agents have the chance to use the media attention that the visit will generate to their advantage. Prince Harry’s tour will spark heightened interest in visiting the Caribbean and Saint Lucia and we want to do everything we can to support agents in converting this interest into bookings and drive business to Saint Lucia by riding on the back of this excellent media attention the island will receive.”
During his time on Saint Lucia, Prince Harry will try out his bowling skills at an exhibition cricket match at the Daren Sammy Stadium, visit Pigeon Island for an outdoor exhibition about conservation projects run by young people and head to the town of Soufriere which sits between the iconic Piton Mountains for a local street festival.
