SHAMED student turned multi-millionaire Terry Fisher has bowed to the wishes of Huddersfield Town’s supporters and returned as a director of the football club.
The Travelworld boss who was expelled from school for lying about his ‘O’ levels and sacked from two jobs, went on to become the country’s youngest ever football club chairman at the tender age of 29.
And now he has been lured back to the mighty McAlpinestadium.
“I was asked to come back by the new chairman and jumped at the chance,” said Fisher, who was interviewed just after his team had fluked a 2-2 draw with Derby County in the fifth round of the FA Cup. Sources close to Fisher – it may even have been Fisher himself – proclaimed him the club’s most successful chairman and said his appointment followed demands from dedicated fans who were keen for him to return.
Other more reliable sources however suggest Fisher’s legendary negotiating skills – he helped sell Travelworld for ú9.2m to Airtours – were the reason he has been reunited with the boardroom he once graced.
“He’ll help flog their best players for hugely inflated prices,” the source joked.
