Carrier bids to build closer relationships with travel agents

AGENTSare being encouraged by Brymon Airways to have a closer relationship with the carrier, despite the airline only paying them 7% basic commission.

General manager Mike Coombes said:”We want feedback on aircraft, routes and schedules from agents.”

He said Brymon is already testing flight indicator boards at Plymouth on the request of agents. It has also changed airport announcements to sound more friendly after agents’ criticism.

Brymon had to follow the British Airways Performance Reward Scheme – unlike other BA franchise airlines – as it is a subsidiary of the international airline.

Coombes said Brymon enjoyed a lot of support from West Country agents despite PRS, as the airline is considered so important to local businesses but he said they could not do special deals within the PRS.
