The Civil Aviation Authority has partnered with careers platform Springpod to promote opportunities for young people in aviation and aerospace.
The Aviation & Aerospace Virtual Work Experience programme will see thousands of students from across the UK, aged 15 to 18, learn about the CAA and its role in the aviation and aerospace industry.
The programme begins on July 25 and will run for five days, covering the responsibilities of the regulator, the impact of Covid-19 and space regulation.
Students can interact with industry experts who can share their experiences about working in the industry, and access post-programme mentorship scheme.
The virtual work experience concept was created by Springpod, which helps young people explore the world of work and university before they apply.
Richard Moriarty, CAA chief executive, said: “We want to inspire and engage with young people to explore careers in STEM, aviation and aerospace and encourage their future career choices.
“Aviation and aerospace need to be ready for the future, which is why we have partnered with Springpod to create this virtual work experience opportunity.”

The airline is looking to recruit 10 apprentice engineers and four graduate engineers, in a bid to attract fresh talent.
