Emirates adds second daily A380 Dubai-Sydney service

Emirates will add a second daily A380 flight on its Sydney-Dubai route, from March 1.

It means the airline will offer customers an additional seven flights per week, to reach 14 weekly services from Dubai to the capital of New South Wales.

The carrier said it is increasing services to meet demand, as Australia is set to reopen to international visitors from February 21. Passengers travelling from the UK can connect in Dubai.

Emirates is gradually expanding the deployment of its A380 aircraft, which has now reached 28 destinations on a scheduled basis.

The A380 aircraft is also operating daily flights to Melbourne, having been upgraded from the Boeing 777-300ER on February 1.

The upgrade to the double-decker aircraft allows 50% additional capacity to serve anticipated demand arising from the re-opening of Australia’s international borders.

Emirates also provides passenger services to Brisbane with five weekly flights as well as three flights per week to Perth, both with Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

The Dubai-based carrier also has a codeshare partnership with Australian airline Qantas.
