Eva Air has celebrated 30 years since it launched flights from Heathrow to Taipei, via the Thai city of Bangkok, with a party for agent and operator partners.
The trade joined the carrier and dignatories last week for the anniversary lunch at St Pancras Renaissance Hotel in central London.
VIP guests included Kelly Hsieh from the Taipei Representative Office in the UK, as well as senior members of the Taiwan Tourism Bureau, Thailand Embassy, Tourism Authority of Thailand and Evergreen Marine, Eva Air’s parent company.
Several players from West Ham United joined the event, as the club is the official airline partner, and Sarah Wu, Eva Air’s London office general manager, was presented with a special edition 30th anniversary team shirt.
The event also heard about discounts on tickets booked between March 27 and April 10, for departures between May 1 and December 9, and a social media competition running to April 10, with tickets up for grabs via Eva Air’s Facebook and Instagram accounts in the UK.
Wu said: “We were delighted to see so many of our valued travel agent and tour operator partners turn up to support Eva Air on our 30th anniversary.
“With their support, the airline has gone from strength to strength in the UK market and we are very grateful to them for being part of this success.”
A special Eva Air plane cake was presented at the end of the lunch, with small airline-themed cupcakes and luxury giveaways given to attendees.
Eva Air flies daily from Heathrow to Bangkok and Taipei.
