Google’s industry leader for travel Finnbar Cornwall is to take up a new role as the technology giant’s UK & Ireland director of strategy and operations.
Cornwall has worked for Google since 2016 and has been part of its travel team since October 2017.
Responsibility for the division will be passed to new director of travel Anna Sawbridge, who has worked for Google for the past 11 years and was previously strategy director at Thomas Cook.
In her previous role, Sawbridge was Google’s head of engagement managers, and between 2014 and 2020 she was an industry head for travel with responsibility for transportation including airlines, rail, car hire and ferries.
She was previously a strategy consultant at Bain & Company.
