Jet2holidays extends 2021 Greece programme to mid-November

The airline and operator has boosted capacity with nearly 80 additional flights in October and November to Zante, Crete (Heraklion), Rhodes and Kefalonia.

The UK’s second biggest Atol-holder made its move as the government continues to leave doubt on when overseas holidays might be able to resume. Jet2 extended the suspension of its programme to mid-April earlier this week.

Chief executive Steve Heapy said: “There continues to be enormous pent-up demand from British holidaymakers, who want nothing more than to get away to the sunshine and enjoy their well-deserved holidays.

“As always, we listen to what customers want and react accordingly, so that we can provide them with the holiday choices that they want. Extending the summer season to Greece means we are doing exactly that; giving customers more opportunity to get away and enjoy a much-needed holiday.

“We will be continuing to respond to the demand so that when travel restarts, we can take customers from our rainy islands to their favourite holiday hotspots.”

Emy Anagnostopoulou, director Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO) UK office, said: “We would like to thank everyone at Jet2.com and Jet2holidays for believing in Greece as an inspirational destination as well as for their continuous support and we are sure that their customers will enjoy their holidays to Crete, Rhodes, Zante and Kefalonia.

“The unbelievable summer weather, even in October and November, and these additional flights will help their customers explore the breath-taking scenery and the delicious gastronomy of these four flagship islands.”
