American Airlines is ramping up its transatlantic presence to cover 17 European cities with 67 flights a week to 11 US destinations next summer.
Heathrow remains the top European gateway for the airline, with the summer 2024 schedule listing 25 daily flights.
However, new flights will serve Copenhagen, Naples and Nice from Philadelphia; a Chicago-Venice route is being revived for the first time since 2019 and Barcelona gains a daily connection to the carrier’s Dallas/Fort Worth hub.
More than 70 US domestic points are served from Philadelphia, with the airline promoting one-stop access to and from Europe.
The airline’s vied president operations and commercial for EMEA and APAC, Kyle Mabry, said: “For those travelling from Europe to the States for summer, Philadelphia provides the perfect gateway to explore a vast range of destinations, all providing a different sense of adventure.”
He added: “Key summer hot spots such as Barcelona and Venice are growing in popularity among US travellers.
“We’re pleased to be able to offer an even greater network to sunny European destinations next summer, opening the world up to even more adventures across the Atlantic.”
The schedule for next summer shows six daily flights to the US from both Paris and Rome, five from Barcelona and Madrid and four from Dublin.
