Majority of consumers want airlines to keep wellbeing support

Nearly nine in ten airline customers say carriers should maintain safety and wellbeing support after Covid travel restrictions are lifted, according to a poll by Etihad.

The Gulf carrier surveyed nearly 10,000 UK consumers in partnership with Country & Town House magazine and found 89% wanted to protection to remain in place.

Jeremy Pollock, country manager UK & Ireland, said: “Everyone is excited at the possibility of booking a trip, whether it’s this year or next, but many will also feel nervous or worried about their health, safety and wellness while travelling.”

He insisted Etihad is “ready to welcome back travellers to enjoy best-in-class travel” and confirmed the airline will continue with its Etihad Wellness programme, established in June 2020, once restrictions are lifted.

It offers guidance on travel documentation, Covid-19 insurance and all Etihad crew are fully-vaccinated. Wellness Ambassadors provide travel health information pre-flight, at the airport, and on board.
