Norse Atlantic ‘continues strong performance’ in October

Fledgeling budget long-haul carrier Norse Atlantic Airways continued to demonstrate strong year-on-year performance in October.

Passenger numbers rose 68% over the same month last year to 102,410 across 403 flights with the load factor improving by 15 percentage points to average 75%.

However, the number of flights operated fell by 100 from 503 in September when 132,556 passengers were carried.

Launched in June 2022 with flights from Oslo to New York after being established the previous year, Norse Atlantic has developed a presence at Gatwick offering a network of low fare transatlantic services.

The carrier, which operates a fleet of 15 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, saw 83% of flights arriving within 15 minutes of their scheduled arrival time in October.

Founder and chief executive Bjorn Tore Larsen said: “We are pleased that October has continued with a strong year-on-year performance trend cross all areas of the business and that our operational robustness, with 100% of flights operated and 83% on time performance, remains one of the best in the industry.

“Looking ahead to the winter we are now focused on launching our winter sun routes, having launched flights to Bangkok from Oslo at the beginning of November and the Caribbean from London to come in early December.

“Our charter operations continue to gather pace in the winter months especially during the periods of traditionally lower demand.”
