Celebrity Cruises’ revamped ship Celebrity Silhouette sailed into Southampton today ahead of its season of domestic UK cruises.
The ship, fresh from a multimillion-pound bow-to-stern ‘revitalisation’, is to welcome her first British guests in more than 15 months on a series of six to eight-night itineraries around the UK coast.
It is the fourth ship in Celebrity Cruises’ fleet to undergo a ‘Celebrity Revolution’ refit as the brand invests more than $500 million in upgrades.
Guests on the first sailing include winners from Celebrity Cruises’ ‘Giving Back To Heroes’ competition; a scheme that offered complimentary rooms to Blue Light Card holders as a thank you for their tireless work throughout the pandemic and beyond.
Jo Rzymowska, vice president and managing director, EMEA, said: “After over a year away, it’s a truly special feeling to be welcoming the beautiful Celebrity Silhouette back to UK shores. Our much-anticipated summer season marks a real vote of confidence in the UK cruise industry and we can’t thank our travel partners enough for all the support they’ve shown us. We can’t wait to treat our mutual guests to the ultimate luxury staycation and give them the opportunity to relax and unwind while looking out at the stunning British coastline.”
Agents can earn £20 Celebrity Rewards points on every booking for the ship for this summer, and can find a dedicated marketing toolkit on Celebrity Central and earn double Captain’s Club loyalty points for their customers.
The crew is all fully-vaccinated, and all guests aged 18 and over are required to be vaccinated too, and show proof of a negative PCR test taken up to or within three days of sailing. Guests aged 24 months to 17 years old will take an antigen test at the terminal prior to embarkation. Tests will be paid for by Celebrity Cruises.
