Abta LifeLine’s velodrome fundraiser invites spectators

Abta’s charity LifeLine is inviting spectators to watch its fundraising event taking place on the eve of the Travel Convention next month.

The ‘Ride for your LifeLine’ fundraiser will be at the Lee Valley VeloPark in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London, on October 12.

Spectators are asked to contribute with a £45 donation, which will help Lifeline’s work supporting travel industry staff in need.

As well as watching the racing action, spectators will be able to join the athletes for supper in the middle of the track.

The cycling takes place from 1.30-5pm with supper from 6pm.

There are 32 racing spots available for the event, which is sponsored by Avis Budget Group.

For a donation of £100 donation, racers will get hired equipment, coaching, refreshments, afternoon tea, supper and an awards ceremony.

Travel Weekly is trade media partner for the convention – the first to be held in-person in two years due to the pandemic.
