Advantage reveals conference theme and two more speakers

The Advantage Travel Partnership has announced the theme for its 2024 conference in May, along with two more high-profile speakers.

The theme will be ‘Buen Futuro – Pace. Passion. Purpose’ for the event, taking place at the five-star Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres Resort and Spa in Cancun, Mexico on May 15-18.

Julia Lo-Bue Said, chief executive of the consortium, said: “Buen Futuro means Good Future in Spanish, and we feel the term perfectly encapsulates our vision of a positive future for the travel industry and beyond, whilst also emphasising the importance of looking forward with optimism and embracing the transformative nature of travel.

“Pace underscores the need for agility and adaptability, passion highlights the essential role that enthusiasm and commitment plays in driving success and innovation, and purpose speaks to the deeper motivation behind the work done across the travel sector.”

The two speakers added to the line-up are social entrepreneur Natalie Campbell and Lisa Minot, head of travel at The Sun. They join speakers who have already been announced: Simon Ferguson, from transport technology firm Modaxo, and Jamie McDonald, adventurer, author and motivational speaker.

Campbell is co-chief executive of ethical water brand Belu Water, a former director of The Royal Foundation, and founder of social innovation agency A Very Good Company (AVGC).

She is also running as an independent candidate for the position of Mayor of London.

Minot has worked for The Sun for 32 years and is a regular travel expert on national TV and radio stations.

Meanwhile, David Meade has been confirmed at the conference moderator. He has been moderating Advantage conferences since 2018.

Lo Bue-Said continued: “Natalie and Lisa both have impressive careers and will deliver insightful and motivational sessions at the conference, with Lisa giving her views on the UK consumer travel landscape and Natalie, who has a personal mission to create a world where people can do good and live better, will share with delegates what she believes are a business’s responsibilities in the 21st century.”
