Atas reveals agents reaching ‘Ambassador’ shortlist

The Association of Touring and Adventure Suppliers (Atas) has revealed the shortlist of candidates in the running to receive its ‘Ambassador’ award.

The trio making the shortlist are: Paul Hardwick, retail director at Fred Olsen Travel; Alison Marden of Travel Counsellors; and Rob and Sarah Kenton of Triangle Travel.

The winner will be announced at the 2023 Agent Achievement Awards in association with Virgin Atlantic, which will be held at London’s Park Plaza Westminster Hotel on July 13.

Claire Brighton, Atas account director, said: “I am delighted to unveil this shortlist for our ‘Ambassador’ award, which recognises the sterling efforts made by travel agents to promote touring and adventure holidays.

“We had a great selection of nominations to consider for this shortlist, which is heartening to see because it shows how agents are embracing the sector and realising what potential it offers for their businesses.

“The three shortlisted agents have all gone above and beyond the call of duty in promoting holidays by our members and supporting the association, so it will be a tricky task to choose one winner.”

The inaugural Atas Ambassador award in 2019 went to Mandy Shillito, general manager at Miles Morgan Travel, and last year’s winner was Zoe Franklin, sales manager at Travel Club Elite.

“The Ambassador award winners we’ve seen in the past have been inspiring to other agents and our members – and winning the award has also spurred them on in their endeavours to promote touring and adventure holidays,” added Brighton.
