Atas unveils plans for Touring and Adventure Month in April

The Association of Touring and Adventure Suppliers is planning its first Touring and Adventure Month to promote the sector among agents and consumers.

Running throughout April, the initiative will offer destination training and an ‘Agent Tool Kit’ featuring expert content that agents can use in their own customer emails and web pages.

Agencies can also take advantage of inspiring web and social media imagery for their own online channels.

Furthermore, the initiative will offer webinars from tour operator members which will update agents about the latest news from each company and offer practical tips about issues such as affordable marketing.

Claire Brighton, Atas account director, said: “This exciting month-long initiative aims to boost awareness of touring and adventure holidays, which have always been a lucrative sector for agents – but as we emerge from travel restrictions, our sector is tipped to bounce back strongly.

“Many of our members have reported strong forward sales because consumers are so weary of lockdown – they are planning to spend more on bucket-list holidays and have something to look forward to.

“We are seeing definite trends in the market for clients to spend more on their bookings and stay longer, so Atas and our members aim to give agents every opportunity to capitalise on the opportunities that are out there in the market.

“With the success of the UK vaccine programme, there is a large number of holidaymakers who have missed out on their 2020 tours and are eager to make up for lost time – so this is the perfect time to learn about the latest tours and adventure holidays and enhance your marketing material with inspiring, beautiful images and stories.”
