Barrhead Travel has hailed the demand for in-person events in the years since the pandemic and pointed to their success as revenue drivers.
Nicki Tempest-Mitchell, sales and marketing director at the agency, said more than 40 events had been arranged this year dedicated to areas including cruise, Canada and touring and adventure.
They generated more than £4.5 million, she revealed, following a level of interest which has “never been stronger”.
“It felt like our events were the final piece of the puzzle after the pandemic and they’re a core part of our future,” she said. “They will help us thrive further next year.”
She added the agency had recognised that despite the initial popularity of virtual or hybrid events during the pandemic, it was now clear that most people wanted a return to having a “human connection”.
