Dnata Travel Group optimistic about future following market rebound

Dnata Travel Group chief executive Alisa Pollard has told a two-day strategy meeting for the company’s UK brands that she is optimistic about the future following a strong rebound in the market.

The group has held the first in-person senior leadership meeting for its UK brands under Pollard to discuss future strategy.

The meeting brought together nearly 100 members of the group’s UK management teams working under its key brands Travel Republic, Gold Medal, Netflights, Sunmaster and Travelbag as well as its supporting service areas.

Pollard told the meeting the group’s brands were making a strong recovery as a result of demand returning to the market.

She also used the event, called Elevate 2022, to thank the team for their efforts during the pandemic, and together with the managing directors from each of the business’ core brands, shared “ambitious” strategic plans for the next two years.

Speaking at the two-day event in Bedfordshire, she said: “After the challenges of the last two years, we felt it was perfect timing to get the team together to celebrate our successes and discuss our ambitious plans for the next two years.

“All of our operating businesses are making a strong recovery on the back of improved trading conditions.  Given the current economic outlook there are sure to be some challenges ahead of us, but we are feeling optimistic about the future.”

Dnata’s divisional senior vice president John Bevan also attended the event from Dubai to share the group’s overall vision and global strategy.

He said: “I am so proud of what the UK team has achieved over the last few years.  Not only have they had to manage the pandemic but also a large transformation and restructuring programme.  It was great to spend time with the team, reflect on our successes and plan for the future.”

Pollard described the event as “much-needed time together for the team to reset and focus on the future”, adding that the meeting had boosted morale of the team’s senior teams.

“Dnata has such a strong culture and this really shone through over the course of the event.  The meeting was a real tonic for morale and the buzz of having everyone together after such a long period apart was great,” she said.

As part of a team building exercise at the event involving all the delegates a ‘dnata human logo’ (pictured) was created.
