G Touring staff raise thousands with sponsored ‘drenching’

Staff at G Touring – operator of escorted holiday and touring brands Travelsphere and Just You – raised money for two good causes with a sponsored drenching of their bosses.

The team in Market Harborough generated more than £1,300 for the Jubilee Food Bank, a local food bank, along with a similar amount for the Planeterra Foundation – the non-profit partner of G Adventures, which is G Touring’s parent firm.

The money was raised through various charitable activities, including paying for the privilege of throwing buckets of cold water over the management team.

The events were also held to celebrate the achievement of an overall Employee Net Promoter Score of 90.

The company’s annual Employee Engagement Survey gives the team the confidential opportunity to score and feedback about their working experience.

The questions cover management, leadership, reward and benefits and whether the leadership team lives by the values of the business.

Alastair Campbell, G Touring’s managing director, said: “It’s never been more important to support such great causes as our local foodbank and our partners at Planeterra.

“The team did a great job of raising so much money and they certainly enjoyed themselves.

“Since G Touring was created, just over five years ago, we’ve been focussed on creating an inclusive and values-driven business – an environment where everyone feels engaged, valued and where they can truly develop.

“We’re delighted with the latest Employee Survey Results, they’re a testament to the dedication of everyone.”

Meanwhile, G Adventures has released a video featuring its staff and guides – known as chief experience officers.

They are lip-syncing to AC/DC hit Back in Black to celebrate the company approaching the milestone of running 10,000 trips since September 2020.

Bruce Poon Tip, founder of G Adventures, said: “Just like the hit Back in Black, our passion and purpose for changing people’s lives through travel has stood the test of time.

“I’d like to thank everyone who has been by our side over the past 32 years and I hope you all enjoy rocking out with us as we party around the world in our new video celebrating the return of travel.”
