National Holidays has put a coach and hotel package on sale for agents in the northeast following the success of Newcastle United in last night’s Carabao Cup semi-final.
Following the team’s defeat of Arsenal, Newcastle fans, known as the Toon Army, will be at the Carabao Cup Final in Wembley on March 16.
Within minutes of the victory, National Holidays had put a package on sale for agents in the northeast to promote to customers who have managed to secure match tickets and want to stay in London for the final.
Details were emailed to agents in the pick-up areas yesterday (February 5) so they could be ready to go as soon as the result was known.
The package departs on March 15 and costs from £139.
This includes return coach travel from a range of pick-up points in the northeast and one night’s B&B accommodation and transfers between the hotel and Wembley.
There is also free time in London on the Saturday, before heading to the hotel. Match tickets are not included.
Claire Dutton, trade sales manager at National Holidays, said: “Ahead of the semi-final we were being contacted by agents in the northeast, asking if we had any plans to provide a coach and hotel packages should Newcastle United get through.
“We wanted to be pro-active and worked quickly to put a break together so agents could start taking bookings immediately if the result went Newcastle’s way.
“We know from past experience, when Sunderland got through to the League One play-off final back in 2022, that clubs have a huge fan base who want an easy, great value way to get down to London and our hotel and coach packages take all the hassle out away.
“We have secured good availability, with a great selection of local pick-up points so agents in the catchment area need to shout about this on their channels right now.”
