During the week-long Andorra trip, guests will stay in the mountain village of Ordino and explore Sorteny Natural Park with a local guide. Other highlights will include trails in the Incles Valley, through territory where the French Resistance guided refugees during the Second World War. The holiday will finish with mountain views and glacial lakes in the Cirque du Pessons.
Wonder of Mexico, meanwhile, starting at £4,930 per person, will offer walkers the chance to explore from the mountains to the coast, taking in remnants of the Aztec and Maya civilisations and offering an opportunity to experience rural life in small villages.
The price includes half-board accommodation in a variety of hotels, haciendas and village houses, all transport by road, boat and air, local guides, the services of the RWH leader throughout, and six lunches. Land only. Departures are on February 2 and November 15.
Over Christmas and New Year, a new UK festive walking break is being offered in the South Cotswolds, with other new options over the period including a self-guided holiday in the western Algarve or in Gran Canaria.
O’Regan said: “Ranging from new ‘Winter Sun’ breaks to top up on the vitamin D in the sunny Canaries and Northern Morocco to far-flung adventures uncovering the ‘Wonders of Mexico’ and exotic sights of Thailand, the new holidays also include some great additions to our seasonal ‘Winter Spirit’ programme with the opportunity to snowshoe in pristine wilderness for that real winter high.”
