Silversea Cruises appoints senior VP of revenue management

Silversea has appointed Roberto Verdino as senior vice president of revenue management to strengthen the line’s commercial presence worldwide.

Verdino will report into chief commercial officer Barbara Muckermann and will be based in Silversea’s Monaco office. He will oversee the line’s revenue operations, forecasting, and commercial planning.

After 15 years at Royal Caribbean International and Costa Cruises as well as time in the hospitality industry, Verdino is credited with having a proven track record in leading teams in Europe and Asia and introducing strategies to maximise revenue opportunities.

Muckermann said: “We are delighted to welcome Roberto Verdino as SVP revenue management, an appointment that reinforces our commitment to long-term growth.

“Roberto’s expertise, paired with his wealth of experience in the cruise and hospitality sectors, will contribute to our continued international success as part of Royal Caribbean Group.”

The cruise line has welcomed four new ships to the fleet since 2020 and is set to take delivery of a further two ships, Silver Nova and Silver Ray, by 2024.

Verdino said: “I am thrilled to join Silversea Cruises during this exciting period of growth. I look forward to working with my team to strengthen the cruise line’s commercial presence worldwide, focusing on developing its pricing strategies and market intelligence approaches to maximise international revenue opportunities.”
