The Thinking Traveller announces B Corp certification

Luxury villa company The Thinking Traveller has been certified as a B Corporation after meeting a range of “rigorous” social and environmental standards.

It said becoming a B Corp means it is joining a global community that is “reinventing business by pursuing purpose as well as profit”.

The not-for-profit network behind the B Corp movement, is B Lab, and it oversees the certification process which covers five key areas – governance, workers, community, environment and customers.

Applicants are required to reach a benchmark score of over 80. The Thinking Traveller received a score of 83.

Since its founding more than 20 years ago, The Thinking Traveller has been developing closer bonds with those who live and work in its Mediterranean destinations.

It has also had a long-standing association with the Conservation Collective, supporting and promoting environmental projects across the Mediterranean.

Rossella Beaugié, co-founder of The Thinking Traveller, said: “We’re so pleased to be able to announce our B Corp certification just 18 months after beginning our journey with B Lab.

“Our team has worked hard over that time to demonstrate that we meet or exceed the rigorous requirements.

“We also consider this a validation of the operating principles and practices we have adhered to since 2002, which includes reinvesting in our local communities.”

She added: “A case in point is our integral role within the recently founded Sicily Environment Fund, a member of the Conservation Collective.

“This is the start of a beautiful journey, and we will continue our efforts to get better at everything we do, for our people, our clients, our partners, and the planet.

“We’re looking forward to developing further to achieve an even better result for our recertification in 2026.”
