Abta highlights February foreign travel changes on new webpage

A new webpage has been created by Abta reflecting the latest changes to the UK’s international travel regime from next week.

The travel association is advising holidaymakers what they need to know about travelling abroad ahead of February half term to help build confidence to book and travel.

Full vaccinated arrivals to the UK will no longer be required to take Covid-19 tests from February 11 following a government announcement last month.

Abta is encouraging members to use the page as a reference point when helping customers get ready for their next trip and to share it directly with anyone looking for advice about travelling abroad this month.

It points out that it is the ideal time to take an overseas holiday as the process of travelling to the UK is getting cheaper and easier.

The page sets out the importance of checking Foreign Office travel advice and what travellers will need to do when returning to the UK from February 11, as well as offering guidance on how to show proof of vaccination and how to get a test for travel.

Abta communications director Graeme Buck said: “Our members are dealing with many questions about travelling overseas under the new rules, as customers want the reassurance of with speaking with a travel expert who can make sure they’re fully prepared for their next trip.

“This new guidance is designed to explain as simply as possible the main things that holidaymakers need to know about foreign travel this February, so our members can provide the support their customers need to book and travel with confidence.“
