Dining options detailed for new Ambassador ship

A series of dining options on Ambassador Cruise Line’s second ship Ambition have been detailed.

They range from traditional restaurants and casual dining to a £89 chef’s table option.

A supplement also applies to Indian fine dining venue Saffron, which made its debut a year ago on the line’s first ship Ambience.

As previously announced, the line has named its Mediterranean speciality restaurant Lupino’s after staff member Michelle Lupino who died after a short illness in October.

The chef’s table will serve nine courses plus five matched wines, with the executive chef talking to passengers about each course in an intimate VIP dining area. A supplement of £89 applies.

The Buckingham and Holyrood restaurants will provide buffet and a la carte dining.

Breakfast and lunch are buffet style at Buckingham, while dinner is five-course a la carte. Holyrood (pictured) is open for dinner only.

The casual self-service Borough Market eatery features various buffet stations, while the Alfresco Grill will offer burgers, hot dogs, pizzas and chips.

Other venues on board include the Cavern for live music, cabarets, gameshows and quizzes; the Clifton Lounge for cocktails; poolside Consulate bar; Angel bar; Purple Turtle wine bar and Pendennis bar.

Ambassador is to officially mark the ship’s launch and first cruise with an event at the Port of Tyne in Newcastle on May 11.

Ambition’s inaugural 14-night maiden voyage departs on May 12 to France and Spain. The ship will then run sailings from Port of Tyne as well as London Tilbury, Dundee, Liverpool, Belfast, Bristol and Falmouth.
