A 2025 world cruise inspired by journeys taken by famous historical explorers has been scheduled by Fred Olsen Cruise Lines.

Flagship Bolettewill follow a similar route to the first world circumnavigation by explorers Magellan and Elcano in 1519.

The 106-night cruise, departing from Southampton on January 6, 2025,  will include destinations such as Brazil, Argentina, French Polynesia, Mauritius, South Africa and Australia.

This cruise will be available to members of the line’s loyalty club from today (Wednesday) before going on general sale on Friday. Prices start at £11,499 per person.

Passengers will receive up to £600pp on board spending plus free door-to-door transfers covering up to 250 mainland miles from the port.

An option to join the ship from Liverpool January 4 for an additional £400pp for interior and ocean view cabins or £500 for terrace cabins and suites.

Head of itinerary planning and destination experience Martin Lister said: “We have a real passion for curating creative and innovative itineraries, and this grand voyage really tells a story – retelling the tales of some of history’s greatest adventurers.

“There are some incredible highlights, from seeing the mysterious Moari statues on Easter Island or exploring the tropical islands of the South Pacific with their volcanic landscapes, turquoise lagoons, coral reefs and pearl trade.

“There’s chances to delve into the origins of music and dance in the birthplace of some of the greatest art forms in the world, or visit St Helena, the isolated British island that was once a crucial shipping port and the place where Napoleon was exiled.”
