Henrik Kjellberg to step down as Awaze chief executive

Awaze chief executive Henrik Kjellberg is stepping down from his role after just over six years.

The Hoseasons parent company credited Kjellberg with expanding the group’s product portfolio, improving its technology and the experiences of guests and accommodation owners.

Until a replacement is found, chief financial officer Matthew Price will lead the business.

An Awaze spokesman said: “We can confirm that Henrik Kjellberg will be leaving Awaze at the end of this month. During his six years as chief executive Henrik has cemented the company’s position as Europe’s leading vacation rental management business; expanding Awaze’s product portfolio, modernizing its technology stack, and strengthening our guest and owner experiences.

“He has helped build very strong foundations for the long-term success of Awaze and we are very excited about 2025 and further strengthening our partnerships with homeowners and guests.

“We would like to thank him for everything he has done for Awaze and wish him every success for the future. Company chief financial officer, Matthew Price will lead the business until a new chief executive is appointed.”

Kjellberg, whose last day is January 31, posted a message on his LinkedIn to announce his departure.

He said: “It has been an exciting and rewarding journey building the undisputed leader in European vacation rentals. I would like to thank the team, Platinum and our partners for all the support over the years!

“I am proud of everything we’ve accomplished together. I can’t wait to see what the business does next and will be supporting from the sidelines.”

Kjellberg did not reveal  his next career move, instead saying: “A new chapter to be written – more on which later.”
