Hundreds of travel trade representatives from around the world will gather in London next week for two events run by Travel Weekly parent company Jacobs Media Group ( JMG).
Global Travel Marketplace will connect worldwide suppliers and UK travel buyers at the Leonardo Royal London Hotel St Paul’s from September 27‑29.
The marketplace is the evolution of the inaugural Global Travel Week, which was created by JMG in 2021 to support the recovery and resurgence of the sector.
More than 100 suppliers will take part in the event, including tourist boards from Croatia, Denmark and Portugal. They will meet with more than 120 buyers, including outbound tour operators, leisure travel agents, Mice agencies and medical tourism firms.
An opening reception on September 27 will be followed by events including interactive workshop sessions, one‑to‑one meetings and networking lunches.
At the same time as Global Travel Marketplace, JMG’s international B2B specialist events division Connections will host its flagship event for the luxury travel sector in the capital with 200 decision‑makers gathering at Nobu Hotel London Portman Square, Royal Lancaster London, The Doyle Collection and Sea Containers London.
The Connections Luxury event in London will take place from September 25‑28 and will see delegates taking part in a range of memorable experiences to help build business relationships.
Business sessions will include a panel discussion, moderated by Hollie‑Rae Brader, editor of Travel Weekly’s sister publication Aspire, and featuring speakers from Visit Monaco, Positive Luxury and residents’ club The Other House.
Greg Reeves, managing director of Connections Luxury, said: “Connections Luxury in London is an extremely important event for our members. We were overwhelmed by the positive response from our community, having sold out in January 2022 and, again, with an increased capacity, in February 2022.
“It’s clear that the UK outbound market continues to be strong, presenting promising opportunities for the recovery of the luxury travel industry.”
Destination partners for Connections Luxury in London include Lanzarote Premium, Malta Tourism Authority, Slovenia Tourist Board, Tokyo Convention & Visitors’ Bureau, Visit Finland, Visit Monaco and Visit Portugal.
