Clia has opened registrations for its first Expedition Showcase in Longyearbyen in the Svalbard archipelago.
The event will take place between July 16 and 20 with about 40 spaces available to visit one of the main starting points for Arctic expedition departures.
A registration bundle will include return flights from London with SAS Scandinavian Airlines, airport to hotel transfers and four nights’ accommodation with breakfast.
Ship visits with AE Expeditions, Ponant, Quark Expeditions and Swan Hellenic, plus business sessions, local excursions, hosted lunches and two hosted dinners, will also form part of the showcase.
Clia will also host an Expedition Cruise Forum in London on March 20, with registrations due to open shortly, and will bring back its Expedition Cruise Champion hybrid learning programme in the second half of the year.
Andy Harmer, Clia UK and Ireland managing director, said: “Expedition cruise is going from strength to strength, and last year reported record bookings and enquiry numbers.
“Our Showcase will be the ideal event for the trade to gain invaluable expedition insight and experience, both onboard and on land.
“With inspirational business sessions and networking opportunities, plus incredible ships to explore, we’d urge agents looking to enhance their knowledge and sales to claim their place now – especially with limited spaces available.”
