Hays Travel has opened its latest shop in the centre of Leeds.
The agency welcomed the city’s mayor, councillor Alison Garthwaite, to officially open the Briggate branch with the cutting of a ribbon.
Garthwaite met with customers, staff and suppliers at the opening ceremony, which also saw her unveil a commemorative plaque.
The branch, managed by Shaun Moremon, is located opposite the Victoria Quarter and is Hays’ ninth branch in the Leeds area.
Jane Schumm, retail director of Hays Travel, said: “We have been holding out for the right premises in the heart of Leeds for years so we are delighted to officially open our new flagship branch in this prime location opposite Harvey Nichols.
“I wish Shaun and the team all the best with growing their customer base in Leeds city centre.
“Shaun has been with Hays Travel for many years and represents our approach and values very well – I am confident they will deliver exceptional customer service and the best pre and post-holiday experience.”
Suppliers at the launch included Jet2holidays – which donated a seven-night, all-inclusive holiday for two in Bodrum as a prize for winners of an interactive game.
Leeds Bradford airport also gave away prizes including free entry to the Yorkshire Lounge and security fast track for two.
