British Incoming Tour Operators Association boss Richard Tobias has been made
the first deputy chairman of the Tourism Alliance.
Tobias,
who starts on March 1, said he will use his new role to raise the profile of
the lobbying body.
He
said: “I shall work with Government to ensure that in this increasingly
challenging climate the needs of tourism are fully understood.”
The
alliance was formed in October 2001 to provide improved lobbying for tourism,
but kept a low profile in its first year.
