British Airways will have a limited short-haul programme within 10 years, Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou has claimed at the ABTA Travel Convention.
The EasyGroup founder said BA will find itself squeezed out of Europe and left to focus on long-haul flights, a market which the low-cost airlines cannot compete in as passengers refuse to tolerate the no-frills experience for more than four hours.
Meanwhile Haji-Ioannou said within the next six months he will expand his airport transfer service with new EasyBus routes to include Stansted and Gatwick.
He also admitted having to refurbish cruise ship EasyCruise I after customers were put off by the original orange paint scheme.
