Thomas Cook is further pushing its own-brand hotels by emblazoning their names on the side of its aircraft.
A Thomas Cook Airlines A321 has been painted gold and advertises the new stripped-back Cook’s Club hotel brand, which was launched last month. It will fly to European beach destinations from its Manchester base this summer.
The first Cook’s Club will open in Hersonissos, Crete this June.
From May, one of Thomas Cook Airlines’ A321’s will fly with a livery of Sentido Hotels & Resorts – a collection of 4 and 5-star hotels and one of Thomas Cook’s eight own hotel brands.
The aircraft will be based at Dusseldorf airport in Germany.
The move to promote hotels on Thomas Cook aircraft is part of the operator’s ongoing strategy to raise awareness of its own-brand hotel portfolio.
A time-lapse video of the aircraft being painted with the Cook’s Club has been produced.
Christoph Debus, chief airlines officer at Thomas Cook Group, said: “The two liveries look fantastic and we are very happy to support and promote two of the group’s own-brand hotels.”
Chief hotels officer Ingo Burmester added: “Our own-brand hotels allow us to give our customers unforgettable holidays, whatever their preference and we want that to start the moment they board our aircraft.
“Our strategy is to strengthen the quality of our own-brand portfolio which now comprises eight brands. In addition, growing our airline is a key part of our group strategy, as demonstrated by a capacity growth of 10% in the group airline this summer.
“Our new flying ambassadors are a fantastic way to both collaborate and celebrate two key pillars within the Thomas Cook Group.”
