A “revolutionary” new vessel nearly twice the width of traditional European river ships has been revealed by AmaWaterways.
AmaMagna will feature a watersports platform, four restaurants, wellness studio and spacious accommodation.
The 196-passenger vessel is due to enter service on the Danube in a year’s time, described as a “distinctive evolution” of AmaWaterways’ European river cruise fleet.
AmaMagna aims to be be the first river cruise ship to feature a water sports platform, complete with a Sundowner vessel offering activities and excursions at no extra cost.
A large heated swimming pool, whirlpool and pop-up sky bar will occupy part of the large top deck.
Despite being double the width and the same length of other modern river cruise ships, AmaMagna will only accommodate an extra 40 passengers over its current fleet.
This gives space for 53 suites from 355 square feet to 710 square feet with full-width balconies. Each one will include a marble bathroom, many with double sinks, multi-jet shower and separate bath.
An additional 34 cabins at 252 square feet will also have balconies while 11 205 square foot cabins will have large fixed windows.
Passengers will be looked after by 70 members of crew.
AmaMagna will run seven-night rotations along the Danube from Vilshofen to Budapest with prices starting ay £1,811 for a Romantic Danube itinerary departing on November 17, 2019.
