Capacity is being added by Tui for next summer with the introduction of holidays to Calabria in Italy from Gatwick and Manchester.
The southern Italy destination will be served by weekly Saturday flights from May 2019.
Tui claims to be the first UK operator selling holidays to Calabria, located in the ‘toe of the boot’ in Italy.
The first Tui Magic Life all-inclusive hotel in Italy is to open next summer with the renivation of an existing property in the region.
The hotel revamp will include renovation of rooms, bathrooms, restaurants, sports areas, Splashpark, three pools and Private Lodge area for over 16s.
The introduction of Calabria follows the operator’s early summer 2019 launch with more ten and 11 night holidays and extra flights to destinations such as Montenegro, Zante, Turkey, Egypt and Mexico.
Tui UK commercial director Richard Sofer said: “We are thrilled to be announcing Calabria as a new destination for summer 2019. This region is something totally new to the UK market and Italy is already hugely popular with British tourists.
“We are the only tour operator in the UK to offer holidays to Calabria and are proud to be introducing it as a new and exciting destination to both our Gatwick and Manchester portfolio for next summer.
“We are always looking to expand our product offering and are delighted to be opening a Tui Magic Life hotel in Italy.
“The hotel is ideal for both couples and families. All our customers can enjoy the 24 hour all-inclusive dining, relax by the beautiful beachfront locations on offer and keep busy with extensive sports programmes; there is plenty of variety and choice for guests to enjoy when staying at a Tui Magic Life hotel.”
