Cologne is being added to British Airways’ network from Gatwick this winter.
Four flights a week will run from November 16 to the German city, famous for its Christmas markets.
Departures will be on Mondays, Thursdays. Fridays and Sundays, to enable short breaks. Fares start at £27 one-way.
The airline is also increasing the number of flights this winter from Gatwick to Palma, Turin, Lanzarote, Malaga and Geneva.
The South African city of Durban will be served with a new direct service from Heathrow Terminal 5 starting on October 29.
BA Gatwick managing director Adam Carson said: “Cologne adds another exciting destination to our Gatwick network and is perfect for a winter break.
“Cologne is becoming increasingly popular due to being a cultural hub and is a living textbook on art, history and architecture.”
