Small UK charter carrier Cello Aviation and its seat-only business have collapsed.
Birmingham airport-based airline mainly operated VIP charters as well as wet leasing two aircraft – a 97-seat Avro RJ100 and a 148-seat Boeing 737-300.
Cello Aviation also ran flights for Tui in Ireland and flew the Queen to Dublin as part of her visit to Ireland in 2011.
A brief notice on the company’s website said on Friday: “It is with regret that Cello Aviation has ceased trading.
“We apologise for any inconvenience that may cause our customers and suppliers.”
Seat-only firm Charter Flight Centre was a subsidiary of Cello Aviation.
The Atol-holding seat only and flight consolidator, trading as Charterflights.co.uk and Ski-flights.com, also ceased trading on Friday, the Civil Aviation Authority confirmed.
“We are currently collating information from the company and will be updating this page as soon as possible,” the CAA said on its website.
Cello Aviation was owned by Birmingham-based Gill Group, which also has interests in civil engineering, insurance broking and aggregates.
The Gill Group website described Cello Aviation as a “market leading supplier of VIP and airline support aviation in the UK”.
