Turkish low-cost carrier Pegasus Airlines is adding Sharjah as its third destination in the Gulf region.
The ‘cultural capital’ of the United Arab Emirates will be served by daily flights from Istanbul with connections from Stansted.
Sharjah joins Dubai and Abu Dhabi as the carrier’s third destination in the UAE.
Fares for the route, which takes off on December 13, start at £149.99 one-way, but involve a change of aircraft at the airline’s Istanbul hub with a three and a half hour layover.
Flights will depart from Stansted at 10.10am, arrving in Sharjah at 01.55am the next morning.
The return from Sharjah is scheduled at 4.05am, getting into Stansted at 12.30pm.
The new route means that Pegasus will serve 105 destinations in 40 countries.
