P&O and Cunard threw a Phileas Fogg themed party to say ‘thank you’ to its Shine Rewards Club agents.
The Shine Surprises Party took place at Spring Grove House, near Kidderminster, Worcestershire.
Jules Verne’s fictional character Phileas Fogg, from his novel Around the world in 80 days, greeted agents as they arrived at the venue which had been kept a secret by party organisers.
Spring Grove House featured a host of smaller venues inside, including a gin bar and a Moroccan souk.
Agents secured one of the 300 places at the party by booking cruises with either line or entering a competition on either brand’s Shine Rewards Club.
Shine Rewards Club was first launched by P&O Cruises in December 2017, before Cunard opted to set up its own branded version six months ago.
Alex Delamere-White, P&O Cruises vice president of marketing and sales, said: “Shine is much more than booking incentive – it is an engagement platform.
“Eighteen months ago, we did not have Shine. Now 85% of bookings are being logged through Shine.”
Cunard’s vice president of market and UK sales, Angus Struthers, said: “2,000 people intended to come tonight – that is 10% of all the cruise selling agents in this country.”
