Wendy Wu Tours has appointed Glen Thomas to the newly created role of head of group sales and partnerships.
Described as a “key hire” for the Asia tours specialist, Thomas is tasked with driving growth in the groups sector and will report to global sales director John Warr.
Thomas has more than 20 years of sales experience, having held senior roles at Co-op Travel and more recently Travelsphere, where he headed the operator’s group sales division for 10 years.
As well as developing Wendy Wu’s group sales and partnerships business, he will promote the company’s new river cruise ship Victoria Mekong to the groups market.
The $10 million Victoria Mekong ship is set to launch in December, and will sail from Can Tho Pier, Vietnam, to Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Warr said: “Glen’s track record, international experience, and contacts in this sector are second to none and we are thrilled to have him on board.
“Attracting someone of Glen’s calibre into the business is a great endorsement for our brand and ambition.”
Thomas added: “We have a tremendous opportunity to grow and develop the group sales business as well as diversifying into new sectors, bringing our strong business values and service delivery to match the demands and high expectations of our clients.”
