Gold Medal and Travel 2 staff are raising money for clean water charity Just a Drop and the Family Holiday Association (FHA).
So far the operators have raised £2,300 towards a £5,000 target for the FHA which will be used to send 100 families on holiday in the UK.
The operators are aiming to raise upwards of £9,000 towards a clean water project in Kenya for Just A Drop by March 22 to coincide with World Water Day.
The money raised will provide a water tank at the Kathyaka Secondary School in Makueni County, along with a washing station, improved sanitation and hygiene education for students.
Two members of staff, one from Gold Medal and one from Travel 2, will travel to Kenya to see how the money is being spent.
Kerry Gallagher, marketing director for Gold Medal and Travel 2 said: “It was very important to us that we were able to support projects in the UK and overseas, so we opted to work with charities that already have a great reputation in the travel industry.
“So far, the response has been incredible, and all our staff have really pitched in to raise money and enter into the fun. Providing holidays for disadvantaged families at home and helping bring clean water to schoolchildren abroad are causes that have an immediate impact and make life better, so we are thrilled to do our bit.”
