Disney appoints new UK sales chief and creates trade role

Disney has announced a new UK sales chief for Disneyland Paris, and will recruit a director of trade sales.

Angelica Costantini will be promoted to the role of UK vice-president marketing and sales for Disney Destinations International from January 2.

She will take over from outgoing vice president marketing and sales UK and Ireland for Disneyland Paris Peter Welch, who announced his decision to leave the company after 28 years in August.

Costantini will look after Welch’s responsibilities as well as Walt Disney World and Disney Cruise Line across EMEA, Disneyland Paris for the UK and Irish markets and the Walt Disney Travel Company International.

To support her, Disney has created a new position of director of trade sales and marketing and transport.

Costantini joined Disneyland Paris in 2010, having spent 13 years in marketing positions for international FMCG companies like Danone, Nestle and Yoplait, mostly in the UK.

Before taking a UK-based role of director of strategy and marketing in March, she spent five years as director of consumer strategy leading developments like Disneyland Paris’ annual pass, themed packages and FastPass range as well as a relaunch to the German market.

Welch will leave the company on February 17, 2020, and support Costantini and the new trade sales director as they begin their new roles. He plans to focus his efforts on a business opportunity in Sri Lanka.
