Former Co-op boss Marks to step down from Thomas Cook board

Thomas Cook Group non-executive director Peter Marks is to step down next month.


The company said Marks, formerly chief executive of the Co-operative Group, had decided to retire from the board at the conclusion of the Cook’s annual general meeting on February 20.


Emre Berkin, independent non-executive director will succeed Marks as chair of the group’s health, safety and environmental committee.


Marks was appointed a non-executive director in 2011


Cook chairman Frank Meysman said: “I would like to thank Peter for his support and contribution as a board member and as chair of the health, safety and environmental Committee.


“My fellow directors and I wish him well for the future.”
